"We own the problems we see."

Wow - for any of those fortunate enough to attend Mr. Tedd Benson's talk this month I am guessing you may have been has inspired as me.  I know everyone I have spoken to has agreed it was one of the best speakers we have ever had.  He was one of the single most impressive examples of integrity and effectiveness I have ever seen in the building industry.

The overarching theme I walked away with was that there is something greater to be achieved than the current norms and standards in our industry.  He inadvertently challenged me to look at what I was doing and challenged me personally to be and do more than I currently am.  One quote in particular stands out to me - "We own the problems we see."

I will be first in line to read Mr. Benson's book-to-be about how he accomplished all he has and will in the future.

While Tedd Benson is a home builder, his mission and values align incredible well with that of NARI's.  We are both intending to improve and raise the standards of those in the design and building industry.  I am honored to have the opportunity to represent this great industry and organization to help achieve this goal.  Thank you Mr. Benson for being such a stellar roll model for us all to aspire to.

  • I couldn't agree more. His presentation reminded me of the core principles of my company and how it's easy to get caught up In the day to day. Let's all remember to step back and look at the big picture at least once a day.
