EM NARI's June 3rd membership dinner was one not to miss thanks to Professional Remodeler Magazine and Kohler. Speaker, Mark Richardson, CR, author, columnist and business growth strategist presented his new book, “Fit to Grow,” as well as some great tips for business owners.
“How Fit is Your Business,” Richardson’s best-selling book, provides a complete check-up and prescription for better business health! This book is jam packed with some precise actions you can take and use to evaluate and improve both immediate and long term operations. It is easy to follow and anyone who applies Mark's ideas can succeed - regardless of the economy. His presentation was a clear representation of what it means to constantly be changing the way we think and operate our businesses.
You have to buy the book (and I am not just saying this because our new sales manager at Sterritt Lumber did). Not going to lie here, I read through it. It is a simple framework with real life experiences that make it an easy read. Big topics of interest were to reconsider how business operates and how managers need to rethink the way we hire and view employees. It is a read that will make one pause and think, "Am I doing the right things to maximize sales and profits?"
Attendees were also treated to a brush-up on Houzz by Michael Stein. You will remember that Michael presented at our 2014 joint EM NARI / ASID meeting to packed house of designers and remodelers. This time, Michael returned to share updates on Houzz and how to get your profile to 100%. Check out this guidebook to get the top 10 tips on maximizing your profile and managing your reputation on Houzz. Download the Guidebook.
The evening capped off with the presentation of the Market Leader Award for Fine Design East to Peter Feinmann of Feinmann, Inc. Peter has been a leader in the industry in New England and a member at EM NARI for nearly 25 years. His company is renowned for client focus, outstanding aesthetics, and superior craftsmanship. Check out this short video of Peter accepting his award.
By the way…I hope you all checked out the Kohler bus. Including the $6,000 toilet!
