After a long cold winter spring has finally arrived. In our March dinner meeting Kermit Baker from Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies shared that 2014 is forecasted to be one of the best years ever for remodeling and home improvement work. Remodelers are telling me that consumers are calling and demand for work is on the rise. Many EM NARI members are looking for qualified help in anticipation of a good (and some report) great year. Our membership is on the rise with inquiries from remodelers seeking to learn more about EM NARI.
Our committee chairs and Executive Director are doing a great job positioning our organization to grow and meet the needs of our remodeling, trade, and vendor members. I would like to thank the members who helped us at the New England Home Show in February conducting seminars for the public. I talked to many homeowners who thought the seminars, and our organization, did a great job.
Our education and programs committee chair Thomas Buckborough is doing a great job lining up our speakers and getting our NARI certification programs off to a great start. We currently have four certification program study groups educating our members and their personnel. This is truly a great sign that we are on an upward trajectory.
In May, I hope you will come and join us and bring a guest for the EM NARI/ASID Houzz event. ASID is partnering with EM NARI and spreading the word through their members. If you are new to Houzz you need to be at this event. If you are using Houzz, come and share your success stories with your fellow EM NARI remodelers. NARI members across the country are having great success from the quality leads produced on Houzz. We are having a “How to Houzz” workshop before the meeting, then networking and dinner, followed by our Evening with Houzz: Creating Client Connections with Michael Stein of Houzz followed by a panel of EM NARI members who are using Houzz successfully. WOW!
Also in May we are bringing you the Professional Remodeler event on 5/21/2104 where EM NARI member and National Industry Remodeling Expert/Coach Shawn McCadden will present “Designing and Remodeling Your Company to Last - Today and into the Future.” We will cap off the night with Mark Richardson. This is a great event to bring a friend. There will be many potential remodeling prospects at this event. It would be great if you attend and help share your EM NARI story with others and ask them to join our organization.
A board member Von Salmi recently said EM NARI needs to be the best place to be in town and people will come. Based upon the increased attendance going back to our very successful COTY Awards (thank you Clarke and COTY Committee) our volunteer board members, and staff, EM NARI is growing again. I am thinking we are the best place to be if you are a remodeler.
I invite you all to come to our events, become an active participant and invite other remodelers to join this great organization as we raise the bar for professionalism in our industry in Massachusetts.
