Welcome Class of 2013! That was the message at the first-ever EM NARI Membership Orientation. Last year, our organization experienced great growth in membership with 27 new businesses joining EM NARI. But, navigating a crowded room, understanding the scope of programs and events offered, and learning where to turn with questions can be a challenge when you are new. With two new members as part of our EM NARI membership committee, the idea for the Membership Orientation was born.
In January, new members representing 12 businesses in the Class of 2013 gathered before our monthly membership meeting to learn more about the national NARI organization, the benefits offered by our local Eastern Massachusetts chapter and to hear from chapter leaders from each committee including Education / Programs, Public Relations, Government Affairs and, of course, the Membership Committee. Not only did participants gain insights about all the benefits at EM NARI, they gained an insider’s perspective on how to make the most of their membership.
According to one participant, the session was a great way to learn “about the different groups that make up NARI.” Another member enjoyed meeting all the committees. And all the participants agreed that the session left them with a better sense of what it is to be an EM NARI member.
Future membership orientations are already in the works. For more information on orientation, and all the workshops and programs at EM NARI, visit our website at www.emnari.org and check out the events calendar.
