On November 5th, Rob Pascucci and Derek Miller of Mark-One, Inc. Disposal & Demolition participated the 2015 New England Lead Conference in Portsmouth, NH. Presentations by members of OSHA, the US EPA, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, among others, covered a wide-range of topics such as the economic burden of lead poisoning, tenant’s rights, and renovation, repair, and painting (RRP) enforcement. More than 150 stakeholders contributed in the lively discussion and brainstorming.
Anticipating stepped up enforcement by state and federal regulators in coming years, the conference was focused on renovators and their responsibilities, both on the job site and with their employees. Ways in which to improve and further strengthen current regulations were also discussed. The conference will be held again in the fall of 2017.
The New England Lead Coordinating Committee has posted copies of the conference presentations and handouts for download. Access the materials at: http://www.newenglandlead.org/new-england-lead-conference/
